Lunch Symposium On-demand

Reframing SAVR: Patient-Centered strategies for lifetime quality of life

The CORCYM EACTS Lunch Symposium put the spotlight on one clear goal:

optimizing patients’ quality of life through smarter, patient-centered AVR strategies.

Moderated by Dr. C. Malaisrie, the session opened with an inspiring presentation by Dr. B. Yang, who shared his refined technique for aortic root enlargement. His talk showcased not just the technical excellence behind the procedure, but also how it perfectly complements the Carbomedics Top Hat, a supra-annular solution designed to enhance valve performance and patient outcomes.

Next, Dr. G. Lebreton took the stage with a dynamic session on choosing the right prosthesis for every patient. He guided the audience through the decision-making process, from mechanical options like Bicarbon — now approved for LOW-INR regimen use, to next-generation biological solutions, such as Perceval Plus, redefining what’s possible in valve replacement.

Finally, Dr. B. Meuris captivated the audience with a look back on 15 years of clinical experience with Perceval. He traced its remarkable evolution, from the original design to the latest Perceval Plus with FREE tissue treatment, comparing its performance with Resilia. The session culminated with a preview of the groundbreaking Perceval Plus LANCELOT, showcasing the first hemodynamic results of this latest innovation in sutureless valve technology.
